Inno3D Showed GeForce RTX 4070 And RTX 4060 Ti With "hidden" Power Connectors

Inno3D is preparing to release two very interesting GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti graphics cards. The peculiarity of the new GeForce RTX 4070 AX eSports and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 White is that they are equipped with "hidden" power connectors.

Most graphics card manufacturers install power connectors on top of the graphics cards. There are also exceptions in the form of a power connector on the back of the graphics accelerator, but very rarely.

With Inno3D graphics cards, the power connections are on the inside of the graphics card. New items are equipped with short circuit boards of unusual shape. This actually puts the connections between the radiator of the cooling system and the reinforcing backplate.

The older GeForce RTX 4070 AX eSports model comes with a new 12+4-pin 12VHPWR power connector. The younger GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 White received a well-known 8-pin connector. In other words, the user does not have to worry about running multiple power cables. The power connectors themselves are rotated 180 degrees toward the motherboard.

The GeForce RTX 4070 model is equipped with a two-piece rear reinforcement plate. It is assumed that the user will remove part of the reinforcing backplate before connecting the power cable to the graphics card and reattach that part of the plate after the cable is connected.

GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 Black

With the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 White model, the plate does not need to be removed. The power connector is simply embedded deep into the graphics card. The free space available next to the plug is enough to simply connect the power cable.

In both cases, the power cable is routed to the motherboard and not to the side panel of the computer case. This approach to power plug placement can be useful with the 12VHPWR plug as it allows more room for proper cable installation without kinks.

The Inno3D GeForce RTX 4070 AX eSports and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti iChill X2 White come with white power cables that match the style of the graphics cards themselves.
