A woman who caused a wrong-way collision on a connector road to the 91 Freeway in Anaheim Hills was killed after she exited her vehicle and was struck by a passing car on Sunday morning, Sept. 22, authorities said.

The initial crash occurred around 2:25 a.m. when the woman was driving against opposing traffic on the connector road from the southbound 241 Toll Road to the westbound 91 Freeway, said California Highway Patrol Officer Sergio Rivera.

The woman crashed into another vehicle, and, after getting out of her own car and walking into traffic lanes, was struck by a passing motorist.

The driver whose car was initially hit and the other driver who hit the woman both called 911 and remained at the scene.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She had not been identified on Sunday.

No other injuries were reported.

A SigAlert was issued at 2:42 a.m. closing both the eastbound and westbound 91 Freeway transition roads at the 241 Toll Road. The lanes later were reopened.

No other information was immediately available.
